Compact Power for Professional Workshops
The Mattei Blade 2 takes the proven design of the Blade Series to the next level, offering higher pressure, increased efficiency, and the same long-life rotary vane reliability that Mattei is known for. Designed for light-industrial and professional environments, it provides dependable air power up to 10 bar(g) while remaining quiet, compact, and economical to run.

Engineering and Construction
At its core, the Blade 2 features the Mattei M65 cast-iron rotary vane air end, built for continuous operation and decades of service. Running at a slow 1 500 rpm, it delivers steady output with minimal friction and wear. The direct-drive transmission ensures all power from the motor is transferred directly to the air end — no belts, no tensioning, and minimal maintenance.
Oil-injected and air-cooled, the Blade 2 maintains stable temperatures even under heavy load. Key components are easily accessible, and the whole assembly sits on vibration-damping mounts for smoother, quieter operation.
Performance and Efficiency
With a 2.2 kW motor, the Blade 2 delivers a free-air output of around 0.24 m³/min (8 cfm) at 7 bar, and is rated for continuous duty up to 10 bar(g).
It’s available in both single-phase (230 V) and three-phase (400 V) configurations, each supplied with either a 90-litre or 200-litre air receiver.
The three-phase version employs a high-efficiency IE2-rated motor, improving energy performance and reducing running costs. An integrated air-oil cooling system maintains stable operating temperature and ensures long service life, while the overall design minimises power loss through friction — a hallmark of Mattei’s vane engineering.
Noise levels remain exceptionally low at around 64 dB(A), allowing the Blade 2 to operate comfortably within most workshops without the need for additional acoustic housing.
Installation and Operation
The Blade 2 arrives fully assembled and factory-tested for immediate connection. Only an electrical feed and condensate drain are required. Its compact footprint and modest height make it easy to position even in tight workshops, while the receiver design provides excellent stability on uneven floors.
With low noise, smooth operation, and consistent pressure, the Blade 2 offers genuine plug-and-play convenience for users upgrading from piston compressors or seeking a reliable standalone solution for production tools and laboratory equipment.
Why Choose Mattei
Mattei’s rotary vane compressors are engineered for exceptional reliability and efficiency. The self-adjusting vanes maintain consistent sealing and performance throughout their life, ensuring minimal energy loss even after years of operation. The low-speed design reduces wear, extends service intervals, and keeps running costs low.
With over a century of compressor innovation, Mattei continues to set the standard for robust, energy-efficient air solutions — supported nationwide by authorised distributors such as West Midlands Compressors Ltd.
In Summary
The Mattei Blade 2 delivers compact, quiet, and efficient air performance at pressures up to 10 bar.
It’s the perfect solution for professional workshops, garages, and light manufacturing facilities that need a dependable source of compressed air without the maintenance demands of a screw compressor.
Available in both single- and three-phase configurations, it provides lasting value and the confidence of Mattei’s rotary vane engineering.
